I have always loved art. I guess, I could say, my connection to art began when I was about 13 while I was taking private sculpting lessons; which eventually led to full size murals and paved the way to my discovering the world of the art of jewelry & the passion for design.
My deep connection to the world of precious stones, gold and art design goes back to the 90s while backpacking in the colorful Far East.
In 1994, I was introduced to the royal goldsmiths of Nepal. A family, which for generations, masters the art of gold and gems for the royal family of Nepal. For months I watched & learned to master ancient techniques to mold gold & other precious metals into works of art. It was right there and then that I decided to pursue this passion that I have discovered within myself.
After several months of apprenticeship I found myself on a journey to Jaipur – The Pink City of Rajasthan – in the pursuit of precious stones. One stone led to another, in tiny workshops and emporiums, jewelry designers and artisans shaped and polished the gemstones and precious metals. Working with precious gemstones, their expertise and highly-skilled craftsmanship my sketches began turning into reality. Every piece I make since is created to celebrate individuality and personal experience.
During the 4 years in the Far East, I launched my first private collection which was inspired by old times – a mélange of tradition with modern technology. After its success I knew it is the time for me to go home and begin the next step on my journey.
When I returned to Israel in 1998, I went to finish my Gemology studies and worked in the diamond industry. In 2001, I was invited to showcase in New York and in 2009 my collection was showing at the IJT Japan’s largest and international jewelry trade show. I began building a client base and before I knew it, orders were coming in for custom made pieces.
By the end of the year, I was back in Israel and opening a studio in Tel Aviv. I set up a state of the art work studio and began creating my vision and spreading the word.
In 2020, after a decade of artistic growth, good exposure and loyal clients from all around the world, I opened AloniJewelry Art Gallery on Dizengoff St.190, Tel Aviv.
Come visit and let me share my vision with you.
For every piece is born from an idea, thoughtfully matched with a sketch and realized in a one of kind jewel, especially for you.
With Love, Aloni
